A.I. Training Series - South Dakota Small Business Development Center
Most business owners have tried AI, but few have actually put it to work. This session breaks down four levels of using AI, from typing in a free chat window to building custom tools, with live demos on real documents and honest talk about where AI messes up and what you should never feed it.
Topics We'll Cover
- You paste it in – The simple habit that turns generic AI answers into useful ones. Takes minutes to learn and everything else builds on it.
- One tool, one job – Software that handles a single task on its own, like sitting in on meetings to write notes, drafting review replies, or the AI features already sitting unused in your point-of-sale, accounting software, or scheduler.
- Give it access to your email and files – AI that goes and finds what it needs instead of waiting for you to hand it over. Microsoft and Google users may already have this included and just need to turn it on.
- Build something custom – For when the tool you need doesn't exist yet. A real example: turning 200-plus scanned scholarship applications into something a committee could search and vote on in one evening.
