Lake Area Technical College Open House Pierre
Lake Area Technical College invites you to an open house showcasing its newly remodeled nursing simulation lab at the Capitol City Campus in Pierre. The event will be held Tuesday, April 14 from 4 to 5:30 p.m., with a brief dedication program at 4:30 p.m. The campus is located at 925 E. Sioux Ave. Community members, healthcare partners, students, and prospective learners are all encouraged to attend. Guests can tour the upgraded facility and experience the latest in simulation technology. The lab features high-tech medical equipment and immersive tools that replicate real-world clinical environments, helping enhance hands-on training for nursing students. The renovation was made possible through a generous grant from Avera Health. This investment supports the growth of healthcare education and helps strengthen the workforce in central South Dakota.
Make & Leave Porch Pot Class 2026
Participants will be given guided instructions on how to pick out and then plant their own container for their deck, patio, or yard. Event fee will cover 3 annual plants, soil, and care of the planters at our greenhouse until May 15th. Planters or baskets can be brought from home or new ones bought during event. Basic rules for planting containers (height, filler, cascading) will be covered along with appropriate plants depending location of the containers.
Hillsview Ladies Golf Association League Kick-Off Meeting
Social starts at 5:30 PM with the meeting beginning at 6 PM. Come learn about the events and activities we have planned for this year. Whether you're interested in fun, social, and/or competition, there's something for everyone. Membership forms will be available at the meeting. Burger Smash 2026 Pierre Area Referral Service
Pierre Area Referral Service will be kicking off the 2nd Annual Burger Smash. The contest will run from April 1 through April 30, 2026. Net proceeds from the month-long event will benefit all the PARS programs in Hughes and Stanley Counties. Food scarcity continues to be a problem facing our community, this event will raise funds and awareness for this issue, while also showcasing the great burgers our Pierre/Fort Pierre restaurants have to offer.
