Woodworking: Build a Birdwatching Bench
Join us at the Riggs High School woodworking shop for this great hands-on workshop. Participants will construct benches and help place them along the Lewis and Clark Trail between the City Marina and Farm Island. Participants will learn about Aldo Leopald, a pioneer in conservation and his legacy to wildlife management and conservation. This service project will include lessons in basic woodworking, how to use a table saw, miter saw, hand drill and sander. This class will offer a relaxed and fun atmosphere with plenty of supervision from experienced crafspeople. Call the Discovery Center at 605-224-8295 to register.
