Space Pirates

Children's Musical: book, music and lyrics by Denver Casado, Betina Hershey and Gwynne Watkins, adaptation by Debra Kern Workman Auditions: Ahoy, young adventurers in central South Dakota! Theatre 605 Tours (formerly known as Dakota Players) is searching for the next crew of daring explorers to star in their original musical production, "Space Pirates!" at the Grand Opera House in Pierre. Auditions will be held on Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. This production welcomes all ages (K-12 grade), skills and experience levels—no need to have pirate expertise (unless you already do!). No experience or advanced preparation is needed. Rehearsals: During five days of intensive rehearsals on Monday through Friday, Aug. 10-14, 2026, children will learn the ropes of acting, singing and even dancing, all leading to a thrilling performance set in the cosmos. Plus, older child can learn how to operate the sound and lighting equipment, adding some extra sparkle to the adventure!
