Pierre Players Present - 12 Angry Men
A jury of your peers. Sounds fair doesn?t it? You get to be judged by people like you: your peers. Presumably, these will be folks that come from similar walks of life and circumstances or, as defined by dictionary.com: a person who is equal to another in abilities, qualifications, age, background, and social status. Presumably, not really the case though, is it? The courts define a peer as a person of the same legal status; otherwise known as a ?citizen?. That will more than likely be all you have in common with that peer. How likely would a fair trial be if your peers were Twelve Angry Men? You can find out by attending Pierre Players next production at the Grand Opera House May 7-9 and 14-16. The main protagonists are Juror #8, played by relative newcomer David Scheifen, and Juror #4, played by Dick Smith, a Pierre Players veteran of 21 years. As the jury foreman, Bill Johnston tries to keep order in this angry bunch. The rest of the cast is made up of newcomers and experienced actors: Bob Parliman (#2), Craig DeTample (#11), and Derek Runge (#7) have been in several Pierre Players productions. Mel Placek (#10) and Bill Johnston debuted as members of the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo?s Nest last season. They are joined by newcomers Ray Tracy (#4), Tam Gatje (#6), John Neff (#5), Tom Harmon (#9) and Nick Weyrich (#12). This blend of new talent and experience brings an exciting show to the Pierre Players stage.
