Fishing Crew Kids Day Event
Kids Day Director Dennis Foster and members of the entire Fishing Crew Team would like to invite Children and Parents/Guardians alike to a Kids Day Event to be held Friday July 9th at 2:30 P.M at Steamboat Park directly behind the Chamber of Commerce Building. All ages are welcome as this is intended to not only be a fun, but an educational opportunity for the entire family. The Fishing Crew is entirely devoted to fostering interest in the Wholesome, Healthy, and Family oriented Sport of Fishing. It is our goal is to encourage as many families to become involved as we possibly can and spark a lifelong passion for the sport we so dearly love. Please mark this on your calendar as we look forward to seeing you there.
We have numerous events scheduled and there will be something that interests and benefits all those attending. There will be an emphasis on water safety with the Pierre Rescue Squad on hand to give a talk and demonstrate rescue techniques and their equipment. Game Fish and Parks will also have a representative available and will give some insight into the local fisheries and biology. The Discovery Center will be conducting hands on Wetlands Projects to further educational opportunities on the importance of eco-systems. The Fishing Crew Pro Staff will be at the ready to answer detailed questions on how to make your outings more successful, as well as discussing various fishing techniques and teaching and assisting with custom leader tying. Every child attending will receive their very own gift bag filled with fishing related goodies and a DakotaMart representative will be spooling new line for all children who bring in their rods and reels-please have old line removed in advance.
Several Youth Groups will be attending, including: Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Discovery Center, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. The Girl Scouts will also be serving Hot Dogs, Snow Cones, Soft Drinks, and other snack items. Great opportunity to come down to Steamboat Park for a fun filled and educational afternoon. Community support is what makes these events a true success. Thus, we wholeheartedly welcome all donations of time, materials, and financial backing from any interested Organizations, Businesses, or Individuals who would like to become involved.
