250+ Years of American Civics and Media: History, Relationship, and Purpose
Non-partisan, public, and free presentation of American civic rights and responsibilities, voting rights, how to determine the credibility of information presented by media in all its forms. As the United States celebrates its 250th birthday, Carson Walker, the CEO SD News Watch, and Jana Miner, longtime South Dakota lawyer, will lead a community discussion on March 24th on the role civics and the news played in the country’s history and now. Coffee and snacks will be served. This is one in a series of presentation across South Dakota intended to provide South Dakotans with information about the political process and help them identify credible news sources to be informed. Time for non-partisan and respectful discussion. We are planning on having on-site voter registration.
