125th Anniversary Weekend at the Cultural Heritage Center
Celebrate South Dakota's 125th Birthday at the Cultural Heritage Center. There will be free museum admission both Saturday (9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. CST) and Sunday (1-4:30 p.m.), highlighting some special statehood artifacts on display, including the pen President Harrison used to sign North and South Dakota into statehood on Nov. 2, 1889.
Get into the holiday spirit and create your own holiday ornaments during the Make-and-Take Holiday Ornament event from 1-4 p.m. CDT on Sunday, Nov. 2, at the Cultural Heritage Center in Pierre.
It’s “make-and-take” because visitors will make ornaments to decorate a tree for the Cultural Heritage Center as well as ornaments to take home for their own trees. These ornaments are easy and fun to make.
No cutting, measuring or gluing required.
All supplies are provided and all ages are welcome. Young children should be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be served.
The decorated tree will be in the Cultural Heritage Center lobby during the holiday season. Call (605) 773-6011 for more information.
