Lead Water Plant and System Specialist

The City of Pierre seeks a passionate individual to join our team in making Pierre one of the best places to live, work, and visit. This position is responsible for leading and participating in specialized technical work at the municipal water treatment plant, distribution system, and related facilities of the raw and potable water system. This is a lead position responsible for leading other Water Plant and System Specialists in the operation and repair of the state of the art water treatment facility, including water sampling, testing, treatment, repair, maintenance and operation of pumps, wells, and motors. Also, will be the lead in compliance testing and monitoring to ensure that all state and federal regulations are met.
 

Qualifications:  Two years experience with water treatment, distribution systems preferred.  Valid driver’s license.  Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team are essential qualifications. Must be able to work without direct supervision and make sound decisions independently.
 

WAGE:  $30.49/hr minimum plus comprehensive benefit package including 100% employer paid employee health, dental and life insurance along with a 6% employer match to the South Dakota Retirement System and 12 paid holidays.  Up to $2000 annually for educational reimbursement.  Wage offer will be based upon actual education and experience.
