The Life and Music of Badger Clark, South Dakota's First Poet Laureate
People will have the opportunity to learn more about Badger Clark during a program performed by Pegie Douglas. She will interweave the story of Clark's life with about 12 of his poems that she has set to music. Clark, known as the cowboy poet, was South Dakota's poet laureate from 1937 until his death in 1957. Clark's books are sold at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center. Everyone is welcome to attend this free event.
