High Plains Wildlife Association Kids Fishing Day
The High Plains Wildlife Association will sponsor their 36th annual Youth Fishing Day at Farm Island on Saturday May 21st at the beach east of the causeway. Registration begins at 8:30 AM. Fishing begins at 9:30 AM and runs until 11:30 AM. Soft drinks and cookies are available through the morning and hot dogs are served at noon. Prizes will be awarded in five different age groups: six and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13 and older. Participants should bring their own fishing equipment. Live bait will be provided.
Parents are urged to accompany their children.
This event is held in cooperation with the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks and local busineses. The H.P.W.A Youth Fishing Day corresponds with the FREE fishing and FREE park entrance weekend in South Dakota State Parks, making it a great opportunity for parents and their children to enjoy the great outdoors together.
