Handspinning
If you’ve always wondered whether you could do anything with the fibers coming off of your sheep, dog, rabbit, goat, bison, or llama, (whether you sheared it off or it just fell out)—this is your chance to find out! Learning to spin can be an enjoyable pastime for anyone who wants to “start from scratch” when knitting, crocheting, felting, or weaving. Participants will hand-card some fiber (using carders that look like pet slicker-combs to align the fibers in one direction for easier spinning), as well as spin their own yarn on a spinning wheel. When registering, please specify whether you have a spinning wheel or will need to share in class. Bring any fibers you’d like to share or spin.
