2026 Governor's Ag Summit
The 2026 Governor's Ag Summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, producers and prospective farmers from South Dakota's farming and ranching communities to share their experiences and develop personal connections. The agenda for this year's Ag Summit will include ag-economic market outlook, policy updates, industry tours, and producer recognition. This year's keynote address will be delivered by Grey Zabel, Seattle Seahawks rookie offensive guard and 2026 Super Bowl LX Champion. A Pierre native, Zabel will share how growing up in South Dakota and the lessons learned working on his family's farm, helped build the character and work ethic that carried him to success in the NFL. He will also discuss his plans to continue his family's farming tradition in the years ahead.
2026 South Dakota State History Conference
Award-winning historian and author Dr. Bradley J. Birzer will be featured speaker at the South Dakota State Historical Society's 2026 Annual History Conference. ?Grit & Glory,? is the theme of this year?s conference. Marking the nation?s 250th, the event will bring in speakers from across the state and the nation to speak about the Declaration of Independence and wider issues about the nation?s founding. There will also be presentations specific to South Dakota and how its people have lived out the founding principles. Registration is open now and can be found at https://www.sdhsf.org/events/. 24th Annual Chamber Golf Classic - 2026
2026 THEME: RED, WHITE, AND BLUE The Annual Chamber Golf Classic will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Hillsview Golf Course. Breakfast and registration begin at 9 AM, with a shotgun start promptly at 10AM. The tournament is in a scramble format. NOTE: Golf Carts will be on a first come, first served registration due to a limited number of availability. If your team is able to supply their own carts, please let us know: edealba@pierre.org Team Fees will cover: Green fees, two golf carts, lunch and one drink ticket per team member + a complimentary entry into the Partee Cart giveaway. (Team member names must be provided to secure this benefit.) Unlimited mulligans are available for $5 each, or $20 for 5 mulligans. Cash or check preferred. More details to come! Agriculture Women's Day 2026
Empowering and connecting women in agriculture is the focus of 2026 Agricultural Women?s Day, held June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Onida at the Agar-Blunt-Onida School District 58-3 (500 S 8th St. Onida). ? ?This event is designed to support South Dakota women living and working in agriculture throughout our rural communities,? explained Dawn Nagel, one of the event?s volunteer organizers. A Gettysburg farmer who also works off the farm in an agriculture career, Nagel understands the value in getting together with women who are also passionate about agriculture and spend a day actively learning together. Along with a motivational speaker, the event often features experts in health and finance as well as opportunities within federal ag agencies like Natural Resources Conservation Service and Farm Service Agency.
