West Shore XC Bike Race

Welcome MTB Racers & Riders to the inaugural event by the Oahe Wheelmen at West Shore MTB Trails in Ft. Pierre, South Dakota! Located alongside Lake Oahe & the Missouri River, a 40-mile USA Cycling sanctioned XC MTB Race & Gran Fondo event with cash prizes awarded in expert men & women races along with expert Juniors male & female races. The course will encompass the 5-miles of handbuilt singletrack built in partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers on operational land for the hydro-Dam facility at Lake Oahe as well as low-maintenance Corps service two-track roads exploring the lower reaches of the Emergency Spillway.

With distances ranging from 40-5 miles, there's something for all levels of MTB rider! Participants will enjoy great views of the expansive Lake Oahe reservoir & massive grassland Prarie, covered in yucca with a few steep lung-busting climbs & flowy ridgeback downhills diving toward sheer cliffs made of shale along the shores of Lake Oahe.
Online registration is managed through BikeReg.com, the cost is $65 until the August 15th deadline increase to $100 per rider. Included with your race entry is a HEADSWEATS custom event cycling cap and a post-race luncheon at Drifters Bar & Grille in Ft. Pierre with live music on the patio later in the evening.
