
History and Heritage Book Club
Author David A. Wolff will be present at the August meeting of the History and Heritage Book Club when the book club discusses "Seth Bullock: Black Hills Lawman". Wolff is an associate professor of history at Black Hills State University in Spearfish. Bullock died at his home in Deadwood on September 23, 1919, at the age of 73. Bullock had helped build Deadwood, founded the town of Belle Fouche, served as sheriff, acted as a town promoter, befriended President Theodore Roosevelt and did much more during his lifetime. Everyone is welcome to attend the History and Heritage Book Club. "Seth Bullock: Black Hills Lawman" is avaialable at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol, as well as other locations. Book club members receive a 10% discount and South Dakota State Historical Society members receive an additional 5% discount when they purchase book club selections at either Heritage Store.
