29th annual AAUW used book sale
The American Association of University Women is seeking donations from the public of used books, CDs, and DVDs through April 7. These items can be dropped off at collection boxes located at Dakotamart in both Pierre and Ft. Pierre, the YMCA lobby, and Northridge Plaza near Hibbett Sports. Anyone who has a large number of books to donate may call 280-3289 or 413-8481 to arrange pick up. The 29th annual AAUW used book sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, and from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 9 at the Northridge Plaza near Hibbett Sports. Proceeds from this annual used book sale help fund local scholarships and community projects. Barb Hillestad, AAUW member, described the event as a popular fund raising event that the public looks forward to attending each spring. “This is a great win-win-win fund raising effort. AAUW members gather used books and media from donations from the public to recycle media materials; customers come to the book sale and restock their reading and media collections at bargain prices; and AAUW raises funds that provide scholarships to students at CUC and T.F. Riggs High School. Everybody wins!” For information, call 224-2552.
