Pierre, SD – Sara Rankin has been named the new Chief Executive Officer of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce. She will begin her new position on Monday, June 14.Contact Information: Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce

“The Executive Board of Directors felt that Sara was a perfect fit for the job,” says Chamber President Thomas Allerdings. “Her outgoing personality, commitment and ties to the Pierre area communities, combined with past work experience were all key factors in the decision.”
Rankin was chosen from a pool of over 30 local and national applicants. Since 2017, Sara has been serving as director of marketing and communications with the South Dakota Municipal League (SDML). Prior to that, Rankin was the events manager at the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce. Her strong organizational management skills along with her work in the industry will continue to propel the Chamber forward in serving its membership.
“The Board is excited about the future of the Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce, and what Rankin will bring to the team,” says Allerdings.
Sara is originally from Pierre and is active with Leadership Pierre and the Pat Duffy Community Youth Involved Center.
The Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce is an active membership organization that has served the Pierre and Fort Pierre communities since origination as the Pierre Citizens Union in 1881. The Chamber promotes prosperity, growth, and our way of life in the lower Oahe region.
