December 2020 SDMRT Report

Onward to 2021. . .

What a nine months we’ve all put in! Work has been stressful, home life uprooted in many ways and mentally we’re all stressed. But it looks like there might be a light coming in the future. But until that happens, the reality of NOW is still here, and we need to work at going onward. It can be daunting to say the least – maybe a couple of these things will help.

  1. Set goals – even if you are working from home, at the office, or not working right now. Look ahead and do a bit of planning and thinking of maybe new possibilities.
  2. Write – journal or blog. Putting thoughts on paper can help them from going around and around in our head.
  3. Keep in touch – everyone needs that person that reaches out to them and says “hey, I’m thinking about you.” Do some laughing or crying – both are a great help with our stress.
  4. Watch your thoughts – don’t let something or someone rent space in your head when they don’t deserve to be there. Use that space for inspiring thoughts.
  5. Check your habits – HEAD UP – PHONE DOWN! Don’t constantly check emails, texts or social media – plan a time to do that.
  6. Stop and Play – take time for you. In this time of unrest, you need to simply get away from those things that don’t matter as much as you might think. You are the important one.
Have a great Christmas. It may be different than some before, but we know that will change. And, be careful and be safe – COVID – 19 is real, but we will get to the other side and look back on this time – just like many before of have had to do in tough situations...
