Singer/Songwriter Eliza Blue grew up in the city and formed her opinions of life on the prairie based, in part, on reading Laura Ingalls Wilder's "Little House Books. Blue now lives on a ranch in northwestern South Dakota. She will tell how Wilder's writings and that of contemporary writers such as Linda Hasselstorm have influenced her views of the prairie and in writing her collection of stories gleaned from ranch life, "The Accidental Rancher." Blue's presentation is part of the History and Heritage Book Club sponsored by the SD Historical Society Foundation and is open to everyone. This free program is made possible by the South Dakota Humanities Council, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities
