For Saint Valentine’s Day the members of the living history group, “The Society for Creative Anachronisms” (SCA), will help people create perfumes based on recipes dating back to ancient Rome. In a world without convenient baths and bad sewers fragrance was everywhere from incense in temples to scented oils used to adorn the body. Using both expected things like Rose and Myrrh and unexpected like Marjoram and Coriander participants can blend their own special scent.
