Learn about the ancient craft of Pewter Casting. Presented by the Society for Creative Anachronisms, a medieval living history group, participants will make their own simple molds and pour their own pilgrimage badges to take home. Pewter is an alloy consisting mostly of tin that melts at a low temperature. In the Middle Ages it was used for everything from souvenir tokens of trips to holy shrines (“pilgrimage badges”) to goblets and plates. No children under age 18 without a parent in the room. Open to the public and free.
