Construction Awareness Days
About 200 area students will participate in the annual Construction Career Awareness Days to be held Tuesday, September 23 in Fort Pierre. This annual event pairs high school students interested in the construction field with contractors, safety directors, laborers and equipment engineers. Students also will get a chance to navigate construction equipment through an obstacle course and tour several construction projects in the area. The event runs from 9am - 2:30pm at the Stanley County Expo Building. It is sponsored by the state Department of Transporation, Associated General Contractors of South Dakota and the Federal Highway Administration.
