Capitol Lake will open for public fishing October 30 with a kick off event scheduled to begin at 4 PM CDT.
Governor Larry Rhoden will be present along with several GFP staff to host an open house event that is open to all ages.
Capitol Lake will be open to the public with no age restriction on those who are allowed to fish. Anglers can fish from sunrise to sunset, and all fishing must take place from the shore. Signs have been placed to show the areas that are open and closed to fishing respectively.
Anglers seeking rods, baits, or assistance should look for the First Catch Center trailer across from Hyde Stadium.
Following this event, fishing will be open to the public, and the fishery will continued to be stocked by GFP.
