Pamela Nowak's historical friction novel "Never Let Go" follows the lives of five white female settlers living in the isolated region of Lake Sheket, Minn., during the Dakota Conflict of 1862. Nowak will tell about the research she conducted and how she merged fact and fiction to create insights into each woman. Nowak is a former Pierre resident. She taught history at Stanley County High School and served as arts coordinator for the Short Grass Arts Council. "Never Let Go" is sold at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center and the Capitol Store.
