Empowering and connecting women in agriculture is the focus of 2026 Agricultural Women’s Day, held June 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Onida at the Agar-Blunt-Onida School District 58-3 (500 S 8th St. Onida).
“This event is designed to support South Dakota women living and working in agriculture throughout our rural communities,” explained Dawn Nagel, one of the event’s volunteer organizers.
A Gettysburg farmer who also works off the farm in an agriculture career, Nagel understands the value in getting together with women who are also passionate about agriculture and spend a day actively learning together. Along with a motivational speaker, the event often features experts in health and finance as well as opportunities within federal ag agencies like Natural Resources Conservation Service and Farm Service Agency.
