1st Annual United Way Amazing Race
Borrowing an idea from television, the Capital Area United Way will host the 1st Annual United Way Amazing Race to kick off their annual campaign on August 27th. Just like the popular television show, the 1st Annual Amazing Race will have 4-person teams racing to the steps leading up to the State Capitol after completing different relay legs of the race including running, canoe/kayaking, bicycling, and swimming. The race will start in Fort Pierre with Mayor Sam Tidball firing the starting gun and will end up at the Capitol steps where Pierre Mayor Laurie Gill will present the winning team with a traveling trophy. Limited to 8 teams.
