DESCRIPTION:Twenty-five years ago\, the world feared that a new "computer superbug" named Y2K would disrupt our technology-driven society. After the threat passed\, technology continued to reach greater heights\, and the ways we tell South Dakota's history have changed dramatically as a result. The 2024 South Dakota State Historical Society History Conference in Pierre will highlight the innovative ways our history is being discovered\, studied\, and utilized.\n\nThe 2024 History Conference will be presented in Pierre\, SD at the Ramkota Hotel on April 5-6\, 2024. This year's keynote speaker for Saturday's Awards Luncheon is bestselling author and public historian Jason Steinhauer\, discussing his book\, History\, Disrupted: How Social Media & the World Wide Web Have Changed the Past.\n\n\nPlease contact us directly if there are any special needs during the conference (dietary\, access\, etc.)\n\nRefund Policy: Cancellations made after March 15\, 2024 will not be refunded.
