DESCRIPTION:Join the Fight Against Food Insecurity: Volunteer with us at the Feeding South Dakota Distribution Center!\n\nVolunteers help ensure we have enough food sorted and packed for families in need.\n\n \n\nExamples Of What You'll Do:\n\n\n Food Box/Bag Packing - Help your neighbors in need by packing food boxes or bags at Feeding South Dakota's Pierre distribution center. This food will be distributed at our mobile distribution locations throughout central South Dakota to help feed children\, families\, and seniors who need food assistance. This work is done in assembly-line fashion with some volunteers on the assembly line packing the food and others helping to restock the line with the product.\n Food Sorting - Volunteers may sort and repack donated food (both perishable and non-perishable) from food drives\, our retail store partners\, or our Feeding America network partners.\n\n\n\n\nWhat We Offer:\n\n\n Training upon arrival.\n Support from our dedicated staff throughout your shift.\n A welcoming environment where your contribution truly makes a difference.\n Music! You pick the playlist!\n\n\n\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\n\n Ability to stand and walk for 2-3 hours at a time.\n Ability to lift at least 5 pounds.\n Volunteers of all abilities are welcome. If you need a reasonable accommodation\, please contact us at volunteer@feedingsouthdakota.org. \n For safety reasons\, all volunteers will be 11 years or older.
