Ingalls and her daughter\, Rose Wilder Lane\, transformed the autobiography into what became the "Little House" series. "Pioneer Girl: The Revised Texts" presents three typescripts of Wilder's manuscript side by side\, showing the revisions made to each manuscript. A fourth column contains annotations that provide historical context and explore the ways in which Wilder or Lane changed the material. The book shows the working relationship between the two women.
