SUMMARY:15th Annual Tyler Wilcox Hockey Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Tyler Wilcox skated as a Capital from 1994 to 2002. As he skated\, he gained respect from teammates and opponents alike. In the fall of 2002\, he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma\, a bone cancer. Although he couldn't skate\, he remained a Capital. He watched his friends and his sister skate while being encircled with tremendous support of teammates and a hockey family... throughout the state. His capitals #5 jersey was retired in his honor in January of 2006.\n\n\n\nAfter each home game\, Oahe Capital teams gather around the circle at mid-ice and tap their sticks five times before raising them to the sky in Tyler's honor. \n\n\n\nIn the true meaning of sportsmanship\, the Oahe Capitals invite the visiting team to participate in the "5-Tap" to honor not only the fallen Capital\, but also a true competitor and a beloved hockey player. Tyler embodied what hockey is all about and he understood the true meaning of sportsmanship.
