Being a DSP!
As a DSP, here are some of the things you’ll do:
  • Assist individuals with achieving personal goals and overcoming barriers.
  • Provide care and assistance to promote good health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of individuals’ behavior, progress, and goals.
  • Help individuals develop living skills such as cooking, household cleaning, money management, household shopping, doing laundry, etc.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must meet the following qualifications in order to be considered for employment with Oahe, Inc.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma, or GED
  • Valid South Dakota driver’s license
  • Insurable under the agency’s auto insurance policy
  • Must pass mandatory drug screening, criminal background check, Medicaid/Medicare fraud check, and an employment history information verification
Our DSPs must also be able to lift up to 35 pounds; and be able to walk, bend, squat, turn in the knees, back wrists and shoulders, and grasp with both hands.
