Secretary Larry Zimmerman will be providing a keynote presentation for the noon luncheon. Zimmerman became the first Secretary of the SD Department of Veteran Affairs in January of 2013. As the new secretary, he serves over seventy thousand veterans within the borders of South Dakota. His vision and mission statement for the new department is "Voices for Veterans"
Congress designates each October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event promotes the benefits of a diverse workforce which includes veterans with disabilities who represent a highly skilled talent pool.
