The US Army Corps of Engineers will be starting tours of the Powerplant and Intakes shortly after the Oahe Dam 50th Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony. They will open up the Powerplant gates and front powerplant doors then perform the tours similar to the manner the tours were done in the old days. Tourists need to be guided thru the industrial portion of the powerplant. Tour guides will check identification and have guests write their names and ID numbers in the sign in book as they enter the lobby front doors. No Camera's, bags, knives, weapons, cell phones and pacemakers/defibrillators still apply. This tour will go both days, tours will start at 10:00 on Saturday/ and afternoon Friday
Intake Structure tours are only for Friday afternoon after the speeches. Folks can freely walk out on the upper structure platform, but will need to be guided down into the structure. The tour guide will meet people at the top of the stairs a lead them down into the facility. There are A LOT of stairs and it will not be ADA accessible.
