History and Heritage Book Club
World-renowned artist, author and illustrator Donald Montileaux will be the guest speaker when the History and Heritage Book Club meets at noon on Thursday, May 7, at the Cultural Heritage Center. Montileaux has written and illustrated three books published by the South Dakota Historical Society Press: "Tatanka and the Lakota People," "Tasunka" A Lakota Horse Legend" and "The Enchanted Buffalo." The books are sold at the Heritage Store at the Cultural Heritage Center. A member of the Oglala Lakota Nation, Montileaux is known for his ledger drawings that have been featured throughout the country in private and public collections. Montileaux is expected to talk about his artwork, the books he has written and illustrated and be available to sign copies of the books. The program is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
